An extensive supply of vitamins, minerals and trace elements ensures the healthy growth and complete development of the foal. This affects all internal organs as well as the musculoskeletal system. The calcifying effect may also be used in older horses to improve fracture healing. The appropriate substitution of magnesium in this preparation minimizes the risk of osteodondrosis dissecting (OCD).

Vitamin A is called an epithelial protective hormone and is important for cell differentiation. It is essential for the retina of the eye and thus increases the eyesight. Already starting in the embryonic development, it specifically supports the length growth of the bones and the immune response of the body is significantly increased (including tumor growth inhibition).
Vitamin D (D3 cholicalciferol, calciol) By solar radiation on the skin, the horse can produce only a fraction of the need for vitamin D3 itself. Vitamin D3 regulates blood calcium levels and promotes calcification of the bones.
Vitamin E (tocopherol) prevents the formation of radicals, thus stabilizing the cell membranes, especially those of the musculature, thus supporting skeletal muscle diseases (myopathies) as well as cardiac and vascular musculature (cardiomyopathies). It protects the central nervous system. Counteracts in the mare embryopathy and in the stallion against testicular atrophy.
Vitamin B12 can not be synthesized by the body and has to be ingested with food. With purely plant based nutrition there is a basic risk of under-supply. The first signs of vitamin B12 deficiency may be  fatigue and weakness, as well as difficulty in concentrating and even severe anxiety. Furthermore, B12 is important for the synthesis of various amino acids (methionine) and support of other vitamins, as well as for the production of blood.
Chondrotin sulfate is the highest polar glucosaminoglycan and thus has the strongest water binding. It works together with other glucosamines anti-inflammatory and inhibits fibrinolytic and proteolytic enzymes and thus protects the cartilage, supports its regeneration and increases the  viscosity of the synovium.
Iron serves as an oxygen binder in hemoglobin and myoglobin. It supports cell metabolism and electron transport during metabolic processes. It is stored in the liver as ferritin and in the spleen as hemosederin. Due to cell-controlled iron absorption from the intestine, a positive effect is possible only with continuous substitution. The feeding of singular high doses can not be utilized by the body.
Calcium is an important mineral that supports the complete development of the bones under the influence of vitamin D. Additionally, calcium is needed for the contractility of muscles including the heart.
Magnesium works in an adapted form to prevent OCD disease and is essential for the
relaxation of nerves and muscles

All of our ESS products are FEI tested. Nevertheless we recommend to stop feeding them to your horse 48 hours before a competition for safety reasons.
